SenseLogix Launch EnergyLogixLIVE™ at NEMEX 2011
16th May, 2011 – SenseLogix is to launch a new real-time energy dashboard at Sustainability Live as part of its ongoing development of technology leading green products. The offer, EnergyLogix Live, is a real-time, multi-utility dashboard designed to present energy data in a simple and engaging manner, raising awareness of energy consumption in the user environment and supporting improvement of energy behaviour by building users.
The Modbus based system collects meter data from utility, sub meters and asset level metering including Power Distribution Units (PDU) and Energy Nodes, to provide a multi-level view of energy use from enterprise to the user.. Energy consumption can be viewed in real-time by system and building users as it happens, with system administrators and authorised service providers able to analyse data using live web tools to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
Information is presented in energy, cost and carbon and updates in real time to engage with users through various media platform such as public displays in foyers and reception, intranets and corporate websites. The system also supports more traditional half hourly data collection and is fully compatible with mobile media products such as the iPad and iPhone.
The ability for energy managers to analyse energy consumption as it happens, rather than wait for day+1 or for the energy bill, will make energy saving a more fluid function and savings easier and faster to achieveDavid Hall
Jonathan Luke, SenseLogix Chief Executive Officer, says: “People play an extremely important role in the efficiency of a building and organisation. It does not matter if buildings are designed to the highest, most efficient level, if the building is not used efficiently by the people within it, then it will not run efficiently
Luke continued: “It is for this reason SenseLogix decided to develop a solution that could not only provide energy stakeholders with a highly advanced, but simplified, real-time metering solution that can be used to analyse data, but it could also be used as the main communication tool for building users.”
David Hall, SenseLogix Sales & Marketing director, says: “The role of real-time energy management is extremely important to the industry. The ability for energy managers to analyse energy consumption as it happens, rather than wait for day+1 or for the energy bill, will make energy saving a more fluid function and savings easier and faster to achieve.“
Hall continued: “Building users will now be able to walk around their buildings turning loads on and off, immediately spotting issues and identifying energy savings being presented to them. Plus, if the system can also be used to communicate energy use in an easy to understand way to building users as well as being a more analytical energy management tool, then it will rationalise the number of systems required, saving further money.”
EnergyLogixLIVE is the metering platform of SenseLogix’s award winning energy reduction solution, EnergyLogix, which won the award for the Best Innovation in Green Products or Services at the prestigious Innovation and Sustainability Awards in 2010.
The EnergyLogix system includes a real-time metering platform, a range of metering and control devices, PC power management software, energy dashboards and a set of reporting tools. The solution meters and controls down to socket level retrofit into the cable management infrastructure of existing buildings to manage equipment, including PCs, ICT and appliances to eliminate electrical waste and lower carbon emissions.
